IT SAP Systems and Basis Administrator

In support of IMSAfs ongoing efforts to enhance organisational performance and provide employee development opportunities, the company is pleased to invite applications for an IT SAP Systems and Basis Administrator in the Information Technology Department.

The IT SAP Systems and Basis position has tactical responsibility for operation and innovation of the SAP ERP Infrastructure landscape and supporting COTS applications. The role is responsible for the Software Infrastructure, supporting Tools, Processes and Threat and Vulnerability management. It entails change management as well as incident and problem management for the SAP Infrastructure and Software components.

• Tertiary graduate in IT (Technical Stream)
• 4 to 5 years practical working experience in:
  • SAP BASIS administration, System integration,
  • A similar operational IT role supporting a business unit,
  • Representing IT within the business,
  • Influencing the business to accept/incorporate processes and systems,
  • Programming and scripting desired,
  • Understanding of processes and systems in the functional areas desired,

• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification.
• SAP BASIS Certification.
• Unix and Linux Certification advantageous.

In-depth knowledge of:

• SAP Software administration (ECC, S/4 HANA, Solution Manager, CALM, BTP).
• Relational database administration (Oracle/HANA preferred).
• Application interfacing (transfer protocols and integration tools).
• Operating systems administration experience (UNIX/LINUX/Windows preferred).
• Threat and Vulnerability administration.
• Disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Networking concepts and terms.
• Business processes (Automotive/Manufacturing preferred)

• Manage the SAP Server, Database, Backup and Storage functions
  • Supports Application and Infrastructure landscapes.
  • Supports Database landscapes.
  • Manage Hardware life cycles, refresh cycles, maintenance and repairs
  • License administration.
• Supports the SAP Infrastructure based on ITIL Framework
  • Manage IT assets and configuration.
  • Manage all incidents and problems through the entire lifecycle.
  • Manage Information security.
• Manage Suppliers
  • Evaluate new Suppliers and Contracts.
  • Establish new Suppliers and Contracts.
  • Processes purchase orders for products and services.
  • Review Suppliers and Contracts to ensure contractual commitments are met.
• Execute SAP Operations Projects
• Supports the Technology Strategy
