Responsibilities:

General Office Tasks: ·Taking instructions from clients, corresponding with and responding to correspondence from clients Opening of clients files;

· Filing of daily documents; · Researching legal opinions, statutes and case law; · Interpreting statutes, case law and legal articles; Magistrates Court Practice and High Court Practice: · Drafting of numerous letters of demand in terms of Section 14 of the Consumer Protection Act and Section 129 of the National Credit Act; · Drafting of summonses and particulars of claims; · Drafting various notices; · Drafting of applications such as Encroachments and eviction applications and applications for default judgments in the Regional Court; · Drafting interlocutory applications such as Application to Strike Defense from the roll, · Application for Summary Judgment; · Drafting of supporting, opposing and answering affidavits; · Drafting of indexes and paginating files in Court; Attending Court and Appearing in Court in various matters on behalf of clients, being the following but not limited to: Section 65 applications; Debt review applications; Attending to correspondent work; Drafting of Acknowledgment of Debts; Filing and collection of documents at the Family Advocate;

Skills Required:

  • Fairly independent worker, use initiative, be punctual
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Organisational skills

Qualification/s:

· LLB\Must be fluent in English\Must be computer literate and well versed in Outlook, Word and Excel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R8 000,00 per month
