  • A B Degree or BSc in Civil Engineering
  • 8 years relevant experience with extensive people management

  • Registered as Professional Engineer or Engineering Technologist
  • Computer literacy: MS Office
  • A valid drivers licence
Key Performance Areas
  • Manages the identification/planning processes of immediate, short
and long term objectives/plans of the Housing Development Directorate
  • Oversees the technical compliance of the various grants that
support Human Settlements Developments such Urban Settlements Development Grant (USDG), Informal Settlements Upgrade Partnership Grant (ISUPG), Human Settlements Development Grant (HSDG), etc.
  • Facilitating the utilization of USDG through the engagements with
line directorates and advising the reprioritization of bulk infrastructure in terms of the USDG framework and alignment with Human Settlement Development to ensure housing projects are not impeded
  • Provides oversight and management of the land pipeline identified
for future projects earmarked for the Housing Development Department to implement
  • Oversee and manage the identification, programming and
budgeting of housing projects at a strategic level
  • Oversee the technical/engineering services as well as the quality
control for Housing projects.
  • Establishes and maintains business partnerships with all relevant
Stakeholders
  • Maximize the Branchs business sense and display a sound
business understanding in applying the most effective management practices
  • Proactively identify and manage operational and financial risks and
provide reasonable assurances regarding the achievement of strategic goals for the Housing Development Department
  • Communicate with internal and external role players, draft reports
