Job Overview

UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. The Youth Employment Service (YES) is part of the public-private initiative lead by the government, to address the youth unemployment crisis in South Africa, UD Trucks is committed to creating work exposure opportunities for unemployed youth in South Africa in accordance with the BBBEE Compliance.

This position is earmarked to Unemployed Youth on on a 12 month contract basis. The person applying must comply with the criteria and be registered on the Yes4Youth platform.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Conduct candidates background and reference checks (vetting process) and send out rejection emails to unsuccessful candidates
  • Employee onboarding, Employee offers, Contracts and Packs, PPE Planning and induction for new recruits
  • Change in status/letter submission to any recruitment movements.
  • Update notice boards with HR related information (Adverts, Medical appointments)
  • Facilitate Medical aid applications, changes and queries.
  • Issue medical aid cards and update any medical changes monthly.
  • Facilitate internal employee changes/ transfers and terminations.
  • Facilitate internal and external HR related queries and requests.
  • General HR admin and filing and assist in responding to staff inquiries.
  • Support with employee wellness clinic and HR activities.
  • Coordinate plant events, venue bookings equipment hire, gifting etc.
  • Support All training program, booking of venues, communication with relevant stakeholders for scheduled training.
  • Issue out training certificates and lunch for planned training and learnerships.
  • Manage dry rations process for UDTO ordering monthly with onste canteen
  • Raise Pos canteen invoice for UDTO Plant using ARIBA system weekly.
  • Order stationery and supports other assigned functions.
  • Blue collar IRP5 and pay slips distribution.
Minimum qualifications and experience
  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or Similar.
  • 2 years experience in HR role preferable within manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act
