Where will the successful candidate fit in?
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing the entire payroll function. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of payroll processes, manages remuneration and benefits administration, and liaises with benefit providers. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with HR, finance, and IT to streamline workflows and enhance system functionalities while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Job Duties:
Payroll Processing:- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies or payroll issues.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, labor laws, and company policies.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the companys compensation strategy.
- Ensure accurate administration of employee compensation, including salary adjustments, bonuses, and incentives.
- Provide reports and analysis on remuneration trends, ensuring competitive pay practices.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Collaborate with HR to review, update, and implement benefits policies in line with industry standards.
- Monitor employee eligibility and enrollment in benefits programs and ensure timely updates.
- Liaise with benefit providers to resolve issues, manage claims, and coordinate open enrollment processes.
- Act as the main point of contact for employee queries related to compensation and benefits.
- Generate and analyze payroll and benefits reports to provide actionable insights.
- Support audits by preparing data and reports for internal and external reviews
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies in both payroll and benefits functions.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing relevant data and documentation.
- Keep up-to-date with changing legislation affecting payroll, remuneration, and benefits administration.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll and benefits processes, including automation and system enhancements.
- Conduct training sessions for HR and payroll system users.
Education:
- A completed relevant HR tertiary level qualification is preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience in payroll processing environment of at least 4 years.
Skills:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in payroll software, preferably Payspace.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of payroll practices, procedures, and regulations.
- Familiarity with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and other relevant employment law.
