  • BTech or an Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical
or Electrical) with a Government Certification of Competence (GCC Factory)
  • ECSA registration will serve as an advantage
  • At least eight (8) years practical experience appointed as
GMR 2.1 as per General Machinery Regulations
  • At least eight (8) years appropriate maintenance and supervision
of machinery experience, involving sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, procedures, best practice and machinery safety
  • Ability to lead and think independently; provide machinery safety
strategic direction managerial level
  • Experience and knowledge of OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and
SAP EHS systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Proficiency and competency in MS Excel, MS Word,
MS PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • A valid drivers licence with own reliable transport and the
ability to travel extensively to City sites. Key Performance Areas
  • Develop, formulate, implement and manage integrated
safety plans/strategies/standards/policies/procedures
  • Liaise with the applicable Water and Sanitation Branch
  • Manage and monitor, lead, guide, assist, mentor, coach
and instruct GMR 2(7)(a) activities, as and when needed
  • Manage machinery safety risk identification, assessment
and performance management
  • Inspect plant and machinery at various water and sanitation
