Top Crop, part of the TWK group, has the following vacancy available: Assistant Production Manager: Nursery at Crammond, KwaZulu-Natal. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Managing the production of subtropical Eucalyptus and ornamental cuttings
  • Overseeing grass vegetative production
  • Ensuring quality compliance with existing systems
  • Monitoring climate control in rooting tunnels
  • Supervising sizing and sorting of forestry cuttings and seedlings
  • Ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained
  • Overseeing grow-out sections (irrigation and disease control)
  • Leading a team of 25 employees in production
  • Recording and capturing data in a nursery management system
  • Planning and assigning daily work to labour teams
  • Ensuring tasks meet quality standards
  • Managing rooting, hardening, and growing-out areas (irrigation, misting, and disease control)
  • Assisting with nursery maintenance and infrastructure projects when needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in Horticulture or Agricultural production
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar management position
  • Drivers license (Code 08)
  • Bilingual (English and isiZulu)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Weekend duties and public holidays when required
