  • Basic Literacy
  • Drivers Licence Code 14 (EB and EC) to code 8 (B).
  • At least 2-3 years relevant experience required
  • Valid Certificate to operate various mechanical plant
equipment
  • Must be physically fit and able-bodied
  • Required to work in all weather conditions
  • Required to work outside normal working hours
during emergencies and planned overtime
  • Candidate will be required to do a departmental proficiency
test. Key Performance Areas
  • Operates various specialised mechanical plant (e.g.
Digger Loader, Front-End Loader, clamshell crane, drum roller.
  • Performs specific tasks at the Depot and worksite prior
to and on completion of maintenance assignments
  • Completes internal transactional documentation such as
tally sheets, log sheet and vehicle checklists
  • Performs tasks associated with transportation to/from
various work sites
  • Communicates with the Supervisor on site and
confirming requirements/ specifications
  • Inspects safety devices, controls, lubricant levels on
