Were seeking a talented HR and L&D Business Partner with extensive experience working within UK businesses to join our team in South Africa. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our growing company and make a lasting impact. The role is based in the Claremont office 5 days a week.

Job Description: As an HR and L&D Business Partner, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various HR functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our HR processes, and providing strategic support to our South African team. Your experience within UK businesses will be invaluable in aligning our HR practices with international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by mediating grievances, or other issues.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process to ensure our company attracts, hires, and retains the best employees.
  • Manage the onboarding of new starters.
  • Implement strategy to effectively manage and reduce absences.
  • Create initiatives to support work life balance and positive culture.
  • Organise social events for employees (Summer Party, Christmas Party, etc)
  • Ensure employees welfare
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Create rewards and benefits strategy
  • Assess training needs and deliver training programs (e.g. Team Leaders training)
  • Ensure all Team Leaders are coached on SA Employment Law and follow the best practices and procedures.
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance
  • Utilise HR Management System is up to date.
  • Support with payroll
  • Utilise your experience within UK businesses to integrate international best practices into our HR operations in South Africa.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a CIPD Level 5 or 7
  • Proven working experience as a HR Business Partner
  • Experience within UK businesses is essential.
  • Experience in headhunting through CV search
  • Experience within Business Process Outsourcing would be advantageous.
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Ability to implement strategy along with leadership skills.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • In-depth knowledge of SA labour law and HR best practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

  • Claremont, Western Cape (City of Cape Town): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
