:

Create CNC programs from AutoCAD and Solidworks drawings.

Set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling machines.

Knowledge of Feeler milling machines - will be an advantage.

Ensure all work meets quality standards.

Operate hand and machine tools.

Check the accuracy and quality of finished parts.

Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations.

Work method planning.

Assigning work to machinists and other machine shop staff

Monitoring work progress and ensuring deadlines are met

Maintaining employee discipline and safety

Resolving conflicts and addressing employee concerns

Reviewing production schedules and ensuring timely completion of orders by working closely with your workshop supervisor - quoted times vs actual times reported, machine times recorded daily, weekly and monthly consolidated reports.

Allocating resources (machines, tools, materials) efficiently

Identifying and resolving production bottlenecks

Monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies.

Estimating job costs i.e. machines time we can use for quotes.

Inspecting work in progress and finished products to ensure they meet specifications.

Identifying and correcting quality issues.

Implementing quality control measures and procedures.

Ensuring that machines and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.

Identifying and repairing equipment malfunctions.

Ordering and maintaining spare parts for machines

Communicating with customers and suppliers.

Preparing reports and documentation and keeping records.

Staying current on industry trends and technologies.

Implementing process improvements.

Participating in budget planning and cost control.

You have a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the machine shop.

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the engineering and or metal industry with direct experience in CNC Programming + Setting + Operating of machines in a machine shop environment

Proficiency with MasterCam or similar program

Create CNC programs from AutoCAD and Solidworks drawings

Ability to read engineering drawings

Skilled in using Vernier, micrometers, etc.

Physically fit to handle materials and tools.

Strong communication skills in English and/or Afrikaans.

Ability to work under pressure and independently - this is very important

Own reliable transport - you must have your own reliable vehicle!

Willingness to work overtime when required.
