This job entails providing an on & off-site service in the technical aspects of submersible and immersible pump motors whilst looking for opportunities to grow the existing business.

You must be able to:

  • Provide expert technical guidance and assistance with repairs, testing and problem resolution on all Pump types
  • Manage a team and ensure work is delivered efficiently, accurately, professionally, within scope and acceptable timeframes
  • Manage the workflow within the Pump workshop and coordinate field service team activities

You will have the following skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge, along with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair skills
  • Understanding different pump types (e.g., centrifugal, submersible, reciprocating, immersible, split casings), their applications, and how they operate
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure, flow rates, and pump sizing
  • Understanding electrical components, wiring, motors, and control systems related to pumps
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues with pumps, motors, couplings, and related equipment
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and replacing worn parts.
  • Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques for pump repairs and installations
  • Interpreting technical drawings and schematics to understand pump systems and components
  • Using a variety of hand tools for pump maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge and adherence to safety protocols when working with pumps and related equipment.
  • Performing pre-functional testing and commissioning of pump systems

You will need to:

  • Communicate effectively with staff, management and customers
  • Diagnose and resolve complex problems related to pump systems
  • Provide excellent customer service when working with clients
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, work in various environments, display good health and be medically fit
  • Adapt to different work environments and situations
  • Manage time effectively, meet deadlines, perform overtime and work on weekends as operationally required
  • Have gained 8-10 years experience
  • Be a qualified Fitter and Turner or hold a similar, relevant qualification
  • Hold a valid Code 8 Drivers License
