Overview: This position is focused on performing technical tasks related to the commissioning, assembly, and maintenance of customer equipment. The role involves providing support to customers, executing service operations, and contributing to engineering and planning activities. The ideal candidate will have a technical mindset with a strong focus on problem-solving, customer support, and adherence to company processes and regulations. Job Description:
  • Perform pre-defined technical tasks, including basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components into systems, basic engineering, and maintenance tasks, both on-site and remotely.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support to customers by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Coordinate and execute defined service operations to address product issues for customer equipment.
  • Contribute to planning and preparation activities for service delivery and ongoing support.
  • Conduct in-house assembly duties for customer equipment as required.
  • Perform condition monitoring and endoscope inspections to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Strictly adhere to defined processes, regulations, and industry standards, including Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols and risk assessments.
  • Additional
  • Required to travel into Africa to perform repairs work on-site
  • Additional duties from time-to-time as prescribe by Line Manager
Requirements:
  • A degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be a Qualified Trade Tested Fitter Artisan
  • 3-5 years experience within mechanical industrial gearbox environment involving equipment commissioning, assembly and maintenance & repair.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in remote and on-site support environments.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards (EHS, risk assessments, etc.).
